Why choose UltraMeal?
Designed to support healthy blood sugar balance, weight management and a healthy body composition. Providing macro- and micro-nutrients in a delicious powder that can be used as a meal or snack, with just 150 calories per serving. It is available in 2 delicious flavours - chocolate and vanilla. UltraMeal is a high protein, low-glycaemic-index powder meaning you should feel fuller for longer.
We first introduced our metabolic foods around 25 years ago. They were developed by Jeffrey Bland PhD, an internationally recognised leader in the field of functional medicine, in fact he is often referred to as the "father of functional medicine". When used as part of a therapeutic lifestyle programme, UltraMeal has been shown to reduce body fat, whilst maintaining lean muscle mass. UltraMeal™ contains only natural flavours and is sweetened with pure crystalline fructose.
Each serving contains fructose (fruit sugar) roughly equivalent to that contained in 1 large apple. It's an ideal choice for those wanting to maintain a healthy body composition and support balanced blood sugars.
What is body composition?
Body composition is the proportion of fat-free mass (which includes water, bones and muscle) to fat mass within the body. A healthy balance between the two may help to reduce the risk of chronic disease, and help maintain health and wellness throughout life. Incorporating high quality protein into your diet can help to support a healthy body composition, and when used as part of a healthy lifestyle programme may help to reduce body fat whilst maintaining muscle mass.
What is the glycaemic index?
The glycaemic index is a way of ranking carbohydrates according to how much they raise our blood sugar levels after we have consumed them. Foods with a high glycaemic index will break down quickly, causing a fast rise in blood sugar levels in the body. Examples include foods like baked potatoes or white bread. Foods with a low glycaemic index breakdown more slowly, causing a slower rise in blood sugar levels. Examples include oats or wholegrain foods.
What is a metabolic food?
Our metabolic foods are a specialist range of nutritionally balanced powders that target a variety of needs including the gut, liver, bowel, blood sugar and weight management. Combining vitamins and minerals with high quality protein and glycaemically balanced carbohydrates, the powders can be used as part of a meal or snack.
Why powder form?
Metabolic foods in powder form are easily mixed with water to make a tasty and convenient shake that can be used either as a meal replacement, snack replacement or meal accompaniment, thereby enhancing a healthy diet and lifestyle by delivering a larger volume of high quality nutrients than is achievable in tablets or capsules.
What can UltraMeal be mixed with?
UltraMeal can be added to water, milk or milk alternatives, or juices. You can also add fruits or vegetables and blend it to make a tasty smoothie. Mixing suggestions and recipes can be found in the Guide For Use
