In a nutshell; copper is a mineral essential for life. It plays a key role in many bodily processes.

A good balanced diet will provide you with enough copper to maintain optimal health however, certain circumstances may mean supplementation is advisable. Good dietary sources of copper include organ meats, seafood, nuts, seeds, wheat bran cereals, grain products, and cocoa products. The recommended daily intake of copper is 900mcg a day. A lack of copper in the diet can lead to copper deficiency and a condition called anaemia.

Copper contributes to:

  • The maintenance of normal connective tissues
  • Energy-yielding metabolism
  • The functioning of the nervous system
  • Iron transport in the body
  • The function of the immune system
