» What is Colostrum?
Colostrum is the first form of milk produced by mammals (including humans) after giving birth. It contains a high concentration of nutrients intended to provide the newborn with all the essentials for growth and protection.
As the first meal, Colostrum is designed to promote growth and fortify the immune system. It is rich in Immunoglobulins (a major component of the immune system) as well as being a low fat source of carbohydrates and proteins. The anti-microbial factors in Colostrum are extremely important for new born infants as they pass immunity from mother to child, and growth factors stimulate weight gain.
