» What is Krill Oil?

Krill Oil is extracted from a species of antarctic Krill called Euphausia superba. It is comprised of two main compoments: Omega-3 fatty acids and Astaxanthin.

It is well known that consumption of Omega-3 fatty acids, or more specifically Eicosapentaenoic acid (EPA) and Docosahexaenoic acid (DHA), is very good for you, contributing, as it does, to heart function, the maintenance of normal blood pressure, brain function, the maintenance of normal vision and brain development and visual development in infants.

Astaxanthin is also beneficial to health as it may reduce the effects of free radicals.

Krill are very small crustaceans that belong to the same family as shrimp, lobsters and crabs. They are found in all the world's oceans but are mostly found in the Northern (Artic) and Southern (Antarctic) polar seas.
